CEEQUAL- hållbarhetscertifiering av infrastrukturprojekt
Nu är jag precis hemkommen efter att ha genomfört en utbildning i London för att bli CEEQUAL-assessor. Inlägget ska handla om CEEQUAL men först vill jag bara beklaga mig.

Men åter till ämnet. Precis som man kan köpa kravmärkta bananer och ekologisk mjölk, finns det märkningar som gäller för byggnader och som visar att dessa är lite mer hållbara än andra byggnader. I en bransch som är så pass miljötung som byggsektorn är, är det extra viktigt att hänsyn tas till dessa frågor. Det är ju där vi kan göra stor skillnad! De mest kända systemen för att certifiera byggnader är Miljöbyggnad, LEED och BREEAM som samtliga bedömer ett antal indikatorer inom hållbart byggande.
Indikatorer som bedöms
Medan miljöcertifiering av byggnader blir allt mer etablerat både på den svenska och den internationella marknaden är miljöcertifiering av infrastruktur inte lika vanligt, särskilt inte i Sverige. Med tanke på att klimatpåverkan från anläggningsbranschen är minst lika stor som den från byggbranschen är det såklart lika viktigt att ett helhetsgrepp kring hållbarhet tas även i infrastrukturprojekt. CEEQUAL är ett verktyg för att göra detta.

Det finns flera studier som visar att ett projekt som är certifierat med CEEQUAL sänker energi- och vattenanvändningen i projektet, minskar mängden avfall och ger flera etiska fördelar. Dessutom minskar projektkostnaden om man ser till projektets livscykel och klagomålen från lokalsamhället blir färre. Med hänsyn till detta tycker jag därför att fler beställare bör ställa krav på att certifiera sina infrastrukturprojekt.
För att certifiera sitt projekt inom CEEQUAL krävs en assessor i projektteamet. På Tyréns har vi från och med idag två stycken assessorer; jag och Erica Rodén.

But back to the topic. Just like you can buy eco-labeled bananas and organic milk, there are labels that are used on buildings to show that they are a little more sustainable than other buildings. In an industry that is as environmentally heavy as the construction sector, it is even more important to take account of these issues. It is here we can make a big difference! The best-known systems for certifying buildings are Green Building, LEED and BREEAM all of which assesses a number of indicators within sustainable construction.
While the environmental certification of buildings is becoming increasingly established in both the Swedish and the international market, the environmental certification of infrastructure is not as common, especially not in Sweden. Given that the climate impact from the infrastructure sector is at least as large as from the construction sector, it is of course equally important that a holistic approach to sustainability is taken also in infrastructure projects. CEEQUAL is a tool to do this.
There are several studies showing that a project that is certified by CEEQUAL reduces energy and water use in the project, reduces generated waste and give several ethical advantages. It also reduces the cost of the project in terms of the project’s life cycle and the complaints from the local community will be fewer. With regard to this, I think more clients should demand certification of their infrastructure projects.
